Notes that aren’t a full recipe: ingredient comparisons, kitchen tests, and site news.

This section gathers everything that isn’t a step-by-step recipe, but is still useful for cooking better in Lima. It splits into two parts:

  • Standalone notes — like the site’s welcome post: news, kitchen tests, and anything that doesn’t fit an ingredient page.

  • Ingredients — an encyclopedia of specific products, organized by food type rather than by recipe:

    • Pantry: seasonings, oils, flours, and other shelf-stable products.
    • Dairy: milk, butter, cheese, and cream.
    • Processed: canned goods, frozen foods, and other second-transformation products.
    • Fresh produce: vegetables, fruit, and other market products.
    • Meat: beef, pork, chicken, and other meats.
    • Fish & seafood: products from the sea.

Every ingredient page follows the same rule: verifiable data instead of loose opinions — real nutrition facts where they exist, prices checked directly on the supermarket’s website (not automatic summaries), and the relevant Peruvian regulation, all with sources cited at the end of each article.
